Coming from a landlocked country the ocean has always fascinated me. The Pacific Ocean is the largest body of water on the planet touching five continents and taking up more area than all of Earth’s landmasses combined. Surrounded by a ring of fire formed by the subduction zones of continental plates around the immense ocean basin, it sounds like something out of a fantasy novel. It is real and it is here and more awe inspiring than anything Tolkien could have dreamed up. This is a growing collection as I slowly uncover the shores of the “peaceful sea”.
